What We Clear

  • Blocked toilets
  • Kitchen sink and grease blockages
  • Bathroom basin, bath, and shower drains
  • Laundry drains
  • Stormwater and subsoil drainage
  • Sewer and main line blockages
  • Tree root intrusion
  • Collapsed or broken drain sections

How We Do It

Not all blockages are the same, and a plunger won't fix tree roots or a collapsed pipe. Copperflow uses professional-grade equipment to properly diagnose and resolve drain issues:

CCTV drain cameras

We can send a camera through your drain to see exactly what's going on and where. No guesswork, no unnecessary digging.

High-pressure water jetters

Powerful enough to cut through grease buildup, clear debris, and flush tree roots from drain lines. Far more effective than drain snakes or chemical treatments for serious blockages.

Electric drain snakes

Used for smaller, localised blockages where jetting isn't required. Once the blockage is cleared, we'll let you know what caused it and whether there's any underlying issue worth addressing: cracked pipes, root intrusion, or poor fall on the drainage line.

Common Causes of Blocked Drains in Brisbane

Brisbane's established suburbs have a lot of older drainage infrastructure, and tree roots are one of the most common culprits. Other frequent causes include:

  • Grease and food waste buildup in kitchen lines
  • Wet wipes, sanitary items, and cotton products in toilet lines
  • Leaves, debris, and sediment in stormwater systems
  • Deteriorating clay or concrete pipes in older homes
  • Incorrect pipe falls from previous plumbing work

Why Choose Copperflow

We don't just poke at the blockage until water flows and call it done. We find the cause, clear it properly, and give you an honest assessment of whether there's an underlying issue that needs attention. If there is, we'll quote it separately, no pressure, just the facts. If the cause turns out to be your roof drainage, see our Roofing & Guttering page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I have a blocked drain?

Common signs include water draining slowly, gurgling sounds from drains or toilets, water backing up in sinks or showers, or unpleasant odours coming from drains. A sewage smell outside near inspection openings can indicate a main line issue.

Can you come the same day?

For blocked drains, we aim to respond as quickly as possible, same day where our schedule allows. If the drain is completely backed up or sewage is overflowing, call us directly and we'll treat it as an emergency.

Will you need to dig up my yard?

Not necessarily. CCTV inspection lets us locate the problem precisely, so if excavation is needed we only dig where we have to. Many blockages can be cleared entirely without any digging.

Are chemical drain cleaners worth using?

For minor hair or soap buildup, they can provide temporary relief. For anything more serious, grease, roots, structural issues, they won't fix the underlying problem and can damage older pipes with repeated use.

My drain keeps blocking every few months, why?

Recurring blockages usually mean there's an underlying cause that hasn't been addressed, most commonly tree root intrusion, a partially collapsed pipe, or a build-up point caused by poor pipe fall or an offset joint. A CCTV inspection will show exactly what's going on.
