How the Process Works
Good renovation plumbing happens in two stages, and both matter.
Rough-in
The first fix work done before walls and floors are tiled or closed in. This is where all the pipe runs, waste lines, and water supply points are positioned correctly. Getting this stage right is critical, since mistakes here are expensive to fix once tiles are down.
Fit-off
The final stage, where fixtures, tapware, and appliances are connected and commissioned once the rest of the renovation is complete.
Copperflow manages both stages and coordinates with your other trades so nothing holds up the job. If your renovation includes a hot water upgrade, see our Hot Water Systems page, and if it includes an outdoor kitchen or gas cooktop, see our Gas Fitting page.
Working to Australian Standards
All Copperflow renovation plumbing is carried out to AS/NZS 3500 and complies with Queensland's QBCC licensing requirements. Where a permit or inspection is required, we handle it. You won't be left to figure out compliance on your own.
Why Choose Copperflow
Renovation plumbing requires more than just technical skill. It requires coordination, planning, and the ability to problem-solve on the fly when existing pipework doesn't cooperate. David brings hands-on experience across residential renovation projects of all sizes, with a precise approach that other trades appreciate on site. We also provide honest advice early: if your planned layout creates unnecessary complexity or cost, we'll tell you before work starts, not after.
Areas We Service
We handle renovation plumbing for homeowners and builders throughout Cleveland, Victoria Point, Redland Bay, Thornlands, Wellington Point, Ormiston, Birkdale, Capalaba, Alexandra Hills, Mount Cotton and Sheldon, plus Brisbane's bayside and eastern suburbs including Wynnum, Manly, Carindale, Belmont, Chandler, Cannon Hill, Carina, Morningside, Tingalpa, Norman Park, East Brisbane, Yeronga, Mount Gravatt and Salisbury.
Frequently asked questions
Most standard bathroom renovations don't require a separate development approval, but licensed plumbing work in Queensland must be carried out by a QBCC-licensed plumber. For larger projects involving structural changes or drainage modifications, additional approvals may apply. We'll flag anything relevant when we scope the job.
Yes, and we're used to it. We coordinate directly with other trades on site to make sure rough-in is done before tiling starts and fit-off happens at the right time.
As early as possible, particularly for rough-in work. Once your renovation has a start date, get in touch so we can lock in the plumbing stages around your broader schedule.
We can advise on what works well in practice, flow rates, compatibility, ease of maintenance, but you're welcome to supply your own fixtures if you have a preference. We'll let you know of anything that may cause issues before installation.
It depends on how far the waste and water points need to move and what's under the floor. In a second-storey bathroom or a slab-on-ground home, relocating drainage can be more involved. We'll assess the existing setup and give you a straight answer on scope and cost before committing.
